Our passion is helping people and
horses learn. This was the driving factor for starting
our farm in 1994. We have set a precedence by providing honest and reliable information about gaited horses to the equine community in the Northwest.
We help educate by: writing educational
articles; performing mountain horse breed demonstrations explaining gaits; creating and running a non-profit club for natural gaited horses with clinics and an annual all gaited horse show.
We strive to learn as much as we can and owe special thanks to our mentors and experts in the equine community (equine nutritionists, farriers, saddle and bit specialists, equine chiropractors, feed and tack stores, magazine publishers, stables, breeders, trainers, clinicians, and veterinarians). There is always something new to learn that can benefit the horse and rider.

Champ - Surviving a Severe Founder on all Four Feet
Our miracle horse has taught us and can teach you. This horse
has survived a severe founder on all four feet with coffin
bones exposed. He became ill from an endotoxin release in Tennessee while in training
for the 1999 International show, severely foundered on all
four feet and almost died.
Champ never gave up and neither did we. He spent the next
year with a great vet in Knoxville, TN, Jon Koella, DVM, his
wife Sherry, and Don and Betsy Coffey of Rocky Valley Quarter
Horses. With his great will to live, they doctored him back
to being sound and strong
enough to make the trip back home. On the return trip, Champ
visited the Kentucky Horse Park where he was intended to show
just one year before. Champ is 100% sound on all four feet. He runs and plays in the pasture. The remaining
signs of his illness are the permanent scars on his body from
having to lay down for 6 months. We are so fortunate to have
him in our life. He has such a big heart!
Champ has performed at several major horse expos to help
others learn how to survive a severe founder and continues
to win the hearts of those that stop by to see him. Spectators
are astonished to see a horse can survive such an ordeal and
Champ gives encouragement and knowledge to those fighting
similar battles. We continue to work with vets in the area
and show the before (x-rays and photos) and after of a horse
that pulled through such a miracle. |

"The
Sound Majority" - Champions support sound horse associations
and shows
The Winter 2002 and Spring 2003 issues of "The Gaited
Horse" magazine featured a "Sore No More" article
and the back cover promoted sound champion horses with sound
horse associations. 8 time world champion mare, HWF's Nicks
Little Lady, is shown in the top left corner and has been
helping to promote sound horses with educational breed demonstrations
since 2001.
