HWF’s Nicks Little Lady is truly
a remarkable horse with incredible heart and desire to perform.
Having established a very successful show career in 2001,
Lady came home to our farm to showcase the mountain horse
breed and demonstrate
to Northwesterners what a world class mountain horse really
looks like. Lady performed at several major equine events
in Washington and Oregon and awed spectators with her presence
and natural athletic ability. Lady even captured the
hearts of Clinton Anderson’s crew and posed for a picture
with Clinton at EquiMasters
in 2002.
Rick and Kim Brighton spent some time schooling Lady in dressage,
where she quickly learned to side pass, leg yield, and started
working on a passage and piaffe in gait! She also let her
hair down to enjoy some trail riding and just be a horse.
For
anyone that hasn’t had the opportunity to get to know
this talented mare, you will find Lady is all natural,
is ridden with a #1 keg shoe, is very sure footed, and has
enough heart for several horses! Her temperament is extremely
calm and willing. She is not spooky and loves to work and
perform in front of people!
Rick and Kim decided to bring her back to Jeff Yarber to
compete at the 2003 UMH and KMSHA World Shows just one month prior
to this event. With Lady going better than ever, they felt
she deserved another chance to compete before she takes that
path to motherhood. With the wide spread support of Lady’s
fans here at home and numerous prayers, Jeff Yarber gracefully
took Lady to win 4 more world champion titles in the park
pleasure division. Rick and Kim would like to personally thank
Jeff for enduring the pressure of showing a world champion
horse that hasn’t been shown in two years with only
3 weeks to get reacquainted, and for taking Lady to the top
again in 2003.
